Tony Meggs recently moved from British Petroleum to establish his own business. He served as the Group Vice President – Technology, British Petroleum Plc. (BP) until April 2008.  He has held this position since 2001. Prior to this, Tony was a Group Vice President in BP’s upstream business with responsibility for activities in Trinidad, Argentina, Bolivia, Algeria, Egypt and Azerbaijan as well as Global Drilling, Reservoir Management, Supply Chain Management, and Acquisitions and Divestments.


Tony’s career with BP began in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska where he was Reservoir Engineering Supervisor with Sohio in the mid 1980s, and became Manager of Resource Development in the early 1990s following the acquisition of Sohio by BP.  He has also held positions with Exxon involving operations in South Texas and the North Sea.


He is currently a Member of London Science & Industry Council. He earned an M.A. in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College.  He was a Graduate Fellow of the Sloan Program of the Stanford Business School.
