Mohamed H. Al-Mady is Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). He has held the position since 1998.  Within SABIC, Mr. Al-Mady also serves as Chairman, SABIC Innovative Plastics Supervisory Board and Chairman, SABIC Europe B.V. Supervisory Board.  He was formerly the Chairman and Managing Director of Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO).  He joined SABIC in 1976.

Al-Mady  led the preparation of a major long-term strategic plan for SABIC that aims at placing the company amongst the largest companies in the world.  The plan addressed management practices, human resources development, local and global expansion, and quality and quantity of production.  SABIC has created a modern management system that is supported with highly qualified professionals in all fields, with a state-of-the-art IT system. He has given significant priority to R&D in SABIC. The company currently has research centers in Riyadh, Jubail, the USA, India, and Holland.

His additional responsibilities in industry include serving as Chairman, Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA) and Board Member, Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA). He is a Member of the U.S.-Saudi Business Council, Economic Offset Committee, International Business Council, and World Economic Forum.  He is a Fellow of the London Business School.

He has represented Saudi Arabia as the Head of the Saudi-side of the Saudi-Taiwanese Joint Committee for Economic and Technical Cooperation.

Al-Mady holds an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
