Khalid A. Al-Falih serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Al-Falih also serves on Saudi Aramco>s Board of Directors and on the Saudi Arabian Supreme Council of Petroleum and Mineral Affairs, chaired by King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz.

Al-Falih began his career at Aramco in 1979. He has served as Senior Project Engineer on several projects and held several key positions, including Manager of Ras Tanura Refinery Maintenance Department; Ras Tanura Refinery Operations Department; and Business Analysis Department.

Al-Falih became President of Petron Corporation in July 1999, then a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and the Philippine National Oil Company. In September 2000, he returned to serve as Vice Chairman on the Saudi Aramco Study Team for Gas Ventures and was appointed as Vice President of Gas Ventures Development and Coordination in May 2001.

In early 2003, Al-Falih headed New Business Development and in April 2004 became Exploration Vice President. He was named Senior Vice President, Gas Operations, in August 2004 and Senior Vice President, Industrial Relations, in October 2005.

In October 2004, Al-Falih was appointed to the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco and also served as Chairman of the Board of the newly formed South Rub> al-Khali (Empty Quarter) joint venture between Shell, Total and Saudi Aramco. He was named Executive Vice-President, Operations Business Center in September 2007 and was named President & CEO of Saudi Aramco effective January 1, 2009.

Al-Falih pursues a variety of professional interests. He was recently appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of King Abdullah University of Science & Technology. Al-Falih holds a B.S. (Mechanical Engineering) from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from KFUPM.
